Younger children and pets will likely need smaller doses, while some adults with severe breathing impairment will need 4 or 5 mg.

To use the ampules:

• Gently squeeze the fluid into the cup on the nebulizer.
• Inhale gently---depending on severity, it may take just a few inhalations or the whole ampule.
• Do not exceed one ampule in 4 hours.

The medication can also be used as a preventative treatment; use as above 10 to 15 minutes before anticipated bronchospasm, such as to prevent physically-induced asthma prior to exercise.

If there is fluid left over, it may be left in the nebulizer for a few hours. If it won't be used that quickly, it can be disposed of or can be sucked back into the ampule from which it came---simply squeeze it, insert the tip in the medication, and stop squeezing. The extra medication should sucked back into the ampule. Medication stored this way should be used in the next day or two.
